Sad News

Hi All,

It's with much sadness that the committee have to report the passing of Bill Tarn.

Bill was a big figure around the club and very active as such. From mowing the grass to helping at the club events, Bill has been a great asset to the club, but more than that, a friend.

I'm sure you'll all agree he'll be sadly missed.

Our thoughts are with Bill's family at this time.

As soon as we have details for the funeral we shall let you know.

New Forum

Hopefully by now you've all seen that the club has an all new forum and wonder why we've started from scratch.

Well the answer is simple, there's been a lot of problems with the old ones, so it's time to just fix the problem once and for all.

Don't worry though, all the great old wisdom and advice is still accessible via a link on the new forum, but is read only now.

Remembrance Sunday

The committee would like to see as many of the members military based aircraft at the field as possible on Sunday the 9th of November.

This is inline with previous years and is an informal event for Remembrance Sunday.

This is a normal flying day still however, so learners and all models/disciplines are still welcome.

The committee hope to see you there.

SABMFA Electric Fly In

It's on the events page, but to remind everyone, our Electric Fly In on behalf of the SABMFA is nearly upon us, so start charging your batteries and praying for good weather.

Multirotor Tests

For members interested, the BMFA have now launched multirotor A and B certificates.

Written by our own chairman Chris, they have been accepted and now endorsed by the BMFA as official tests, so you can test your skills and get a certificate when you pass.

Anyone looking to test should contact Ian the membership secretary who will put you in touch with an examiner.

Spotlight Section

Those with a keen eye will see the website now has a spotlight page. This page is all about you the members and your models. We'd like your photos and a brief description of your pride and joy, such as wingspan, motor/engine and what is good or interesting about it.

This can be any kind of model from foam toy to supermodel, the idea is we share with the world what we fly.

To get a model featured, just get your best photo of it (uncropped please) and send it to chris@bmacuk.co.uk with your description.
